Originally involved in painting and pastel, it was not until moving to Central BC that working stone became his passion. It was there that Vance was able to experience eagles, bears and a wide variety of wildlife to fuel his new artistic expression.

Active in commission work, Vance's work ranges from small pieces for gifts to larger sculptures for private and corporate collections. Vance carves various alabasters, soapstone, slate, chlorites and moose antlers when creating his works.
